CiT announces partnership with KBC to simulate polymer processes for design and optimization of polymer plant processes

14th July 2022

CiT is excited to announce that its flagship software, Predici, has been integrated with Petro-SIM, the world class process simlator of KBC (A Yokogawa Company). While Predici is the state-of-the-art software for polymerization process simulation, KBC's Petro-SIM provides outstanding flowsheeting capabilities in steady state and dynamic models. This unique combination should lead to faster and parallel integration of model development into flowsheets.

CiT has 30 years of experience in research and software engineering in the context of polymerization for customers around the world. KBC has been cutting edge in the continuing digital transformation of large projects in the chemical industry. Therefore, the integration of CiT's Predici with KBC's Petro-SIM allows polymer manufacturers to improve their entire supply chain in terms of transparency, control and sustainability.

Dr. Michael Wulkow, CiT's founder, commented: "Predici allows the study of polymer properties in arbitrary detail, always including the computation of full molecular weight distributions. We are thrilled that Predici modellers can now incorporate and use their complete, unrestricted models within a larger context without further implementation or programming."

"We are excited about this new partnership and evolution of our strategy”, said Russell Byfield, KBC Global Simulation Business Leader. “This new solution will better enable clients to make critical decisions about how to optimize and prioritize activities to decarbonize the entire petrochemical and polymer supply chain including polymer recycling for the circular economy."
