MEDICI-PK Virtual laboratory for Pharmacokinetics Pharmacokinetics and -dynamics involve the study of the drug-organism interaction, in particular the investigation of absorption, distribution, meta-bolism and excretion (ADME) processes and the effect of the drug on the body. In recent years, in silico (computational) approaches for the analysis, prediction and optimization of pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic processes have attracted considerable attention. CiT is currently developing a modular, application-specific and user-friendly virtual laboratory to support modeling, simulation and optimization of physicologically-based pharmacokinetic and mechanics-based pharmacodynamic processes in the context of drug design and risk assessment. The virtual lab is developed in cooperation with the Junior Research Group "Computational Physiology" (FU Berlin and the DFG Research Center Matheon "Mathematics for key technologies"). The article " The virtual laboratory approach to pharmacokinetics: design principles and concepts " was published in the journal "Drug Discovery Today".
